Rain… I love the rain. I love how the little cold droplets feel on your skin. I love the little beads of water sliding over your skin and dripping from your clothes.
I walked down the deserted sidewalk. The neighborhood was still and silent, as if its residents were asleep. I knew they weren't because the lights from their houses cast a warm, gentle, pale yellow glow on the world.
No one in this town appreciated the rain. No one dared go outside when it was pouring like this; not when it was this cold. No one but me that is.
I tucked my hands in my coat pockets, burying them in the warm folds. I swung my legs in wide arcs as I strolled lazily down the street. I breathed in the thick scent of rain, feeling better than I had in days.
"What are you doing out here?" an exasperated voice asked. I looked over my shoulder to see a figure huddled in a doorway. I turned to see him wrapping a scarf around his neck as if he was preparing to come out.
"Walking?" I supplied with a gentle smile. He was cute. His hazel eyes were bright, with that adventurous glint most nine year olds had. I would have mistaken him for a kid if I hadn't seen him in practically all of my classes. He was pale, as if he feared the sun and only went outside on days like this. His jet-black hair fell in his eyes in the most adorable way. Yup, he was cute all right. "Uh… I'm Gerard."
The boy smiled, showing all of his little white teeth. He hopped from the top step to a puddle gathered on his walkway. Water sprayed up and drenched his shins and calves. "I'm Frank," he said as he trotted up to stand beside me. He turned his face to the sky, the little droplets sliding gently down his cheeks and dripping onto his grey band shirt. "Oh, damn, I love the rain."
   "It's amazing, right?"
   "Snow's Better."

*2 Months Later*

I grabbed Frank's hand, tugging him to his feet. The book he had curled up with sank to the couch and lost his page. "Hey!" Frank whined.
I smiled, ignoring his complaints. "C'mon! It's snowing!"
Frank's frown broke into a smile. "Really?" he asked, his past disappointment fading in the blink of an eye. I nodded, looking at the beautiful boy's hazel eyes with a longing smile. I had fallen in love with Frankie from the moment I saw him. I wish I knew how to tell him how I felt, but every time I choked up, strangled by the fear that he may not feel the same or he would be disgusted. Or… Both.
"Oh, this is amazing!" Frank said as he glanced out the window. "Let's go!" We raced down the hall to the front door. We didn't take three steps before my little brother Mikey threw a snowball at my face.
"SNOWBALL WAR!" Mikey screamed, his voice echoing through the still winter day. He ran up to me, his cheeks red and his breath coming out in big huffs. "If Ray and I win," Mikey said to be with a devilish grin. "You and Frank have to make out!"
I widened my eyes slightly. I cast a glance at Frank who was smiling like a fool, but when his eyes met mine he wiped all expression from his face. I grinned, trying to hold back a laugh.
"And if we win?" I wondered.
"I don't think we'll have to worry about that, Gerard." Mikey smiled, his eyes cocky. "Please, be realistic!"
"I'm saying 'if,' Mikey." I frowned at the little boy who just beamed at me. "Do you have to make out with Ray?"
Mikey's face screwed up in disgust. "Eww! No! We're thirteen!" Mikey complained. I heard Ray snicker somewhere off to my right.
"Fine… Whatever…" I said angrily. "Then you and Ray… Have to stick your freezing hands into boiling water." Mikey contemplated my proposal. He knew it would hurt like a bitch. He did it last winter. I could still hear his scream before he yanked his hands out.
Mikey thrust his hand forward, his face serious. I clasped my hand around his and gave it a vigorous shake. I should have been the one with the cocky smirk on my face. Either way I'd win this war.
Frank and I ran off to build our fort. He got it to about Frank's waist when we ducked behind it. We scooped up snows in our already frozen hands. We packed them into secure balls before turning to look at our enemies over the top of our fort.
"Prepare to win," Frank said. He chucked his snowball over the fort but it crashed a few feet short. He turned to me, a wicked grin on his face. "Whoops."
"Come on!" Ray called. "You can do better!"
I chucked my snowball. It sailed through the air… And hit Ray right in the fro. "Take that!" I said through my hysterical laughter.
I looked to see Ray shaking the snow out of his thick curls. "Screw you, Gerard!"
I raised my eyebrows, a devilish grin on my lips. "When and where, Ray? I'd just love to!" I called back.
Ray gasped. "Eww! You're disgusting, Gerard!"
   "Precisely!" I snapped backed.
We continued on until our arms were sore and our bodies were numb. Frank fell back against our fort. His cheek were bright red and he was slightly shaky. He ran his sleeve across his red runny nose. "Gah, I can't feel my body!"
   "Yeah… Relentless bastards…," I muttered.
"Wanna forfeit, Gee?" he wondered, his tone absolutely serious.
'YES! YES! YES!' my mind screamed desperately.
I ignored my screaming mind and shrugged. I had to be logical and not come off as too desperate. "I mean, if you wanna," I said.
"Yeah," Frank said. He rubbed his hands together and breathed into them. "This shit is getting old and I can't feel my fucking fingers." Frank stood, his hands raising to show surrender.
I heard whoops and cries of victory and triumph from Mikey and Ray's little base. I stood beside Frank, my hands raised in surrender as well. I saw Mikey and Ray jumping around like idiots, high-fiving each other and laughing in joy.
"We won! We won! We won! We won!" Ray said. He turned to us quickly, his eyes wicked. "Make out! Now! You remember the deal!"
Frank gulped, looking very nervous. "I…uh… Gerard… I have something I have to tell you… before we–"
I covered Frank's mouth with mine. Frank jumped, by didn't move away. I cupped his jaw gently with my hand. I contemplated nervously before my tongue flicked across his bottom lip. He whimpered slightly before opening his mouth. He thrust his tongue into my mouth hungrily. When our tongues collided it was—holy shit—electrifying… Magical…
Frank grabbed my waist, trying to deepen the kiss. His warm tongue explored my moth, desperately trying to taste each part. He pulled back slightly. He bit my bottom lip and nibbled slightly. I moaned and pushed forward. Our lips crashed together and our tongues fought relentlessly for dominance.
Frank placed his hands on my shoulders, his fingers kneading slow, gentle circles. My hands slid down from his shoulder blades to the small of his back. He gasped into my mouth and pulled away. His hazel eyes gazed into mine with that same adventurous glint they held when I first saw him.
"Gerard… I really like you. Like… Really like you."
   "I didn't notice."
Frank's lips met mine, gentler this time, not as hungry. My lips immediately parted to allow in his tongue. We were taking time to savor each kiss.
"Frankie…," I murmured against his soft lips. He pulled away. His eyes met mine. His eyes were hazy with pleasure and bliss. "I like you too."
This is a One Shot... I was requested to do a one shot and it was raining and a friend of mine said, "Snow's Better...."

AND THIS LOVELY CREATION BLOSSOMED! :D
